What we believe

We are an evangelical church and believe that, through the scriptures, we have come to see our need for forgiveness, and have experienced God's love, made known to us in the Lord Jesus Christ.

What we believe in:

  • The divine inspiration, authority and sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures
  • The unity of the Godhead, comprising of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to whom equal honor is due
  • The Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of the eternal Father:

    • who became truly man, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary
    • who died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sin of the world
    • who ascended to the right hand of God where he serves as the only mediator between God and men
    • who will come again to receive His people to Himself and establish His Kingdom
  • The fall of man and the sinfulness of human nature as a result of that fall
  • The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to bring about the new birth and to enable the believer to live a new life
  • The ordinances of Baptism by immersion of those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Lord's Supper as being instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ
  • The resurrection of the body: the judgment of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ, with the eternal joy of those made righteous through our Lord Jesus Christ and the eternal punishment of the un-righteous

Our Vision Statement

  • "To make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded." Matthew 28 v 19-20
  • 'To glorify God' and

    • to introduce people to Him through the Lord Jesus Christ as their saviour
    • to respond to Him by living lives that please God,
    • and to witness to others of God's love"

We see three requisites for this Vision.

We believe these requisites will produce growth in response to our listening to God

  • Worship and prayer that lifts us into the presence of God
  • Teaching of God's word and its application to our lives, must be central
  • There must be love shown by all to all throughout the fellowship

Our Aim

  • 'To know Jesus and to make Him known'
